I was flipping channels last night and came across the film !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! (195 7 ) starring Charles Boyer and Brigitte Bardot. I just happened to catch a scene with Bardot as a passenger in a two-seat jet I'd never seen before, so I noted the registration (F-WZRS) and Googled it. I discovered that, just like !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! and the !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! (Internet Movie Car Database), there is also a database for movie planes, !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! . Who knew? Well, somebody did, just not me. This looks like it will be a fun site to poke around.

The plane is a Morane-Saulnier MS.755 Fleuret, a two-seat prototype of the !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! .

Chromed-out jets were such a cool 50s-60s thing.

That site is okay, but I've noticed there's a lot of incorrect identifications

Ah, bare aluminum. Looks good until it corrodes away

That's too bad. Still might be fun to surf, though. And that MS is pretty awesome. Click the link for the MS.760. Neat concept for the time, and seems to share many lines with the Hawker Hunter tandem seater, at least in profile. This jet also strongly reminds me of the SAAB 105.

There's also a Internet Movie Firearms Database that I found by accident while looking for an A-Team photo once .

Some guy in Florida has bought up all the MS760s and is rebuilding them and selling them. People could find the jets for $250-$500k before-hand, now they're a $2M investment.

I knew about IMFDB before I knew about the cars and plane one. Heat is still the best gun movie ever. And it's amazing how much Hollywood screws up the basics of firearms (let alone getting the right weapons in the right hands in war movies).

The MS 760 is one of those ideas I can't believe has never caught on: a private fighter jet. ATG tried with the Javelin and it was a total failure. The only remotely successful private fighter is the BD-5J

What was the cost of operating those back in the day, though? Fuel consumption was probably pretty voracious, but then again, fuel prices were probably much lower.

It probably wasn't THAT much worse than other aircraft. The Javelin was fairly recent (mid 2000's I think), so that one is probably more economy driven than operating costs.
